Getting Started at Last

(October – December 2023): Mid-October, two years after conception, the building project was underway with geo-tech checks, site clearing and demolition.  The mason crew persevered through rainy days and the unexpected find of a power line and internet amplifier to get the elevator pit, beam footings and foundation poured.  Final review of any reusable materials (windows & doors) and sections for roofing, elevator cab finishes, millwork, and doors will help ensure there are no delays waiting for materials.  Infrastructure plans for lightning protection, audio & visual needs  and  the new lighted cupola (yep, it will be lit for the liturgical seasons!) provided much to research and discuss.  Since COOS still occupied the existing building, each day’s progress brought the project to life.
