At the recent Praise & Potluck @ the Park, Beachxsutawney Bill predicted 8 more weeks of construction. Which is right on schedule with our builder’s expectation of a Certificate of Occupancy around October 30.

In the meantime, progress is ramping up as many of the crews work to finish their specialty areas. The ‘Cover Up’ inspection (of everything above the ceiling) is complete, allowing the final sheet rock to be hung, the light package to be installed and the ceiling tiles to be placed. HVAC is running on the remodel side and the electricians are working with Beaches Energy to get full-power to the new construction side by mid-month (which will give the crews some much deserved AC). The AVL contractor is prepped for final install and life safety contractors are finishing the final requirements to satisfy the Fire Marshal. Flooring installation is underway, the painters are coloring the space and some doors are hung – all adding a new level of excitement to the project.

Outside, the existing walks merged with new walks to create a single (& obvious) entry to the building. Irrigation updates are planned and upgraded landscaping ‘wishes’ are hoped for. The necessary demo and prep for the revised parking areas are in process, making a mess that will soon clean up with new curbs, ramps, drainage and asphalt.

Our site supervisor Brian told us to be prepared to race from 20-80mph as the next few weeks bring so many plans to fruition – hold on tight, it’s been a long ride and is this last part will be more than worth it!
